Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy 70th Session Graduation
On March 2, 2018, President Wilson Lee was joined by Technical Director Joshua Kennon and AALEA-NCR members in attending the 70th session of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy graduation.
AALEA-NCR members had a chance to congratulate each graduating Asian American police officer / deputy in accomplishing this milestone and welcoming them to the law enforcement family. Local Asian American media, WKTV, were also onsite to record and interview the graduating officers and deputy.

2017 End of Year Dinner
We will be having the 2017 AALEA-NCR End of Year Dinner on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at 6:30pm at Breakers Korean BBQ in Fairfax, Virginia. Come join us and celebrate the end of the year of the roaster and the coming of the year of the dog!
There will have a series of raffles through out the evening. The cost per person is $35 with non-alcoholic drinks, taxes, and tips included. Children between the ages of 5 to 10 is $15, and children under the age of 5 are free! Please see the flyer linked below for additional details and location's address.

2017 Summer Picnic
Join us on Saturday August 5th 2017 from 11AM - 4PM for the annual AALEA NCR summer picnic! It will take place at Bull Run Park and we will be located in Pavillion #2.
This event is free for members and their families. This will be a BBQ and potluck, so we do ask that you bring a dish!
There will be a raffle ($5/ticket), frisbee, cornhole, and a good time.

Asian Heritage Night
On May 23, 2017, President Wilson Lee of the Asian American Law Enforcement Association of the National Capital Region (AALEA-NCR) was honored to be invited to Asian Heritage Night, a night of celebration for Asian heritage month and a networking opportunity with other Asian American organizations within the Capital Region. This event is hosted by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce and Chinese Culture Institute.
The event provided AALEA-NCR exposure to the Asian American community and its businesses. President Lee spoke with other attendees about the importance of a diverse law enforcement agency that mirrors the makeup of the communities it serves and how AALEA-NCR is supporting its members in furthering their passion for law enforcement.
AALEA-NCR would like to thank President Cindy Shao of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce for the invitation and this unique experience.

Police Leaders of Tomorrow
The Fairfax County Police Department is looking for candidates ages 17-23 to participate in a new weeklong training course titled "Police Leaders of Tomorrow". The program's goal is to encourage those who attend to consider a career in law enforcement and also to educate young adults about policing.
The course is scheduled June 5 2017- June 9 2017 from 9:00AM - 3:00PM.
Course topics include:
- Fairfax Criminal Justice Academy
- Firearms Range
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Course
- Crime Scene Investigation
- K-9 Demonstration
- Ride-Along
- Simulated Training Practical
- Leadership Panel
- Networking
- Applicant Hiring Standards
Upon completion of the week long program, members of the police department are matched with attendees to provide long-term mentoring. The goal is to continue generating interest in the law enforcement profession and ensure a positive relationship between attendees and law enforcement officers.

2017 AALEA-NCR Organizational Restructuring
AALEA-NCR has undergone an organizational restructuring to provide clarity to each Officer’s role and responsibilities within the organization. The Officers have been reorganized as follows:
Vice President #1 → Vice President of Administration
Vice President #2 → Vice President of Operations.
Associate Director → Financial Director
Technical Director → NEW
The President, Vice President of Administration, Vice President of Operations, Sergeant at Arms, and Treasurer will continue to be elected positions, while Directors will be appointed by the President.
